Serious reportage - proper news which deals with serious issues that have significant consequences (genre include crime, politics, education, business) Dealt with in a serious tone by journalists 

General Interests - less significant news, often more popular with mass audiences (genres include sports, arts and culture (music, TV and film), celebrity gossip) 


To be a journalist you have to:

  • Providing context 
  • Ethically

  • Make sure you sources are reliable

Internet - buzz feed, facebook
Television - bbc, itv
Radio - heart, bbc radio

Main news providers - TV, Radio, Internet, Social media and Print

Feature story - about a subjects in general 
News story - live, current, unfolding, time sensitive
